Review methodology

Understand the difference between a research guide and a firsthand review.

Research guides at launch

The current collection is based on desk research and practical editorial guidance. It is labelled accordingly. Provider information is checked against linked sources; an official description is not presented as a measured test result.

Future firsthand reviews

A firsthand review should identify the exact product or service, version or location, testing date, task, method, observed strengths and weaknesses, and limitations. Original evidence should be retained. A visit, a product test or video inspection must never be invented.

Ratings and comparisons

No invented ratings or user-review counts are published. Any future score needs a clear method and applicable evidence. Comparisons should describe trade-offs and alternatives for the intended reader.
